Dot Day is coming!
International Dot Day is usually on September 15. Since we missed Dot Day in BC, there is talk of making it Dot Day BC on Monday, October 6.  You can do activities all week, if you like. It is a flexible date. If you are interested in taking part, you can sign up here  (you may need a google account to sign in to this doc) if you'd like to collaborate with some other educators in BC. You do not have to sign up to participate.  It is a great day for everyone.

Here is some information for DOT DAY, for those who are unsure....

The Global Read Aloud is an opportunity to connect with students, educators, classes, and schools around the world - discussing the same book(s).

If you are interested in reading more about the Global Read Aloud, you can find information here:

Tia's blog post about the Global Read Aloud (Tia has each of the books as well, if you'd like to borrow any).  Elsie and Tia have many of the Peter Reynolds books, if you'd like to do the Peter Reynold's author study.  These books are picture books, however they can be quite profound, depending on the age of the readers.
