Information for this Week
HOJA is coming to perform at our school on Monday morning!
Hoja is a modern A Cappella singing group from Calgary, Alberta (originally from Saskatchewan).
You all received a Pre-Performance Discussion/Activity Guide. In it, you will find more information about the history of a cappella, styles, music, arrangements of voice parts, and different ways of using your voice in a cappella.
You can follow them on Facebook to see more videos and hear more of their songs.
Here's a video to watch to give you a taste of their upcoming performance:
Jump Rope for Heart
A big thank you goes out to Natalia for organizing the Jump Rope for Heart Introductory Assembly on Tuesday morning!
PAC Clothing Drive - Donated items can be put on the stage.
Computers - All PC's have been moved into classrooms and the computer lab is now available as a work space for teachers to book. All eMacs are on the stage for pick up. If you have a computer from the lab, please put your data on it from your old computer and let us know if there are any difficulties (i.e. data missing, etc...) soon so that, if needed, we can have IMS to come in and help retrieve data.
Sharepoint - The latest version of the district site was updated over Spring Break. There are some very interesting things you can do on the site. There will be an upcoming session to talk about the site and what it is able to offer now. Stay tuned! But, for now, be one of the first 5 people to respond to the question I asked in our Staff Room in our new NewsFeed and you will receive a PRIZE! For now, you will also find our blog located in the Staff Room in SurreySchools under the Wiki tab to the left. We will continue to host it with Blogger as well, but it might be nice to have it in one location on SurreySchools.
Discovery Education - Surrey Schools is excited to announce a new phase of our partnership with Discovery Education that will continue to support your instructional goals. On April 7, 2014, we will transition to a new portal, www.surreyschools.discoveryeducation.ca and use the same user name and password as you do to access your computer. All personal information will be transferred from your old account on www.discoveryeducation.ca to your new account on www.surreyschools.discoveryeducation.ca.
